Deborah Ward from Frantic Ink creates artwork that is somewhere between an encrusted seashell and a bejewelled fabric.

She layers textures, collage, threads and beads combining them with paint to create her unusual and intricate canvases.

Based in Bournemouth and hailing from North Devon, it is small wonder one of her key fascinations is the seashore.  Her use of materials is clearly influenced by her training in textile design.

Although she is a relative newcomer to the Bournemouth arts scene, she has been teaching Art & Design in the area for a number of years.

Her work was featured in the March issue of Muse and can be seen in the Coastal Creatives Boutique Gallery in Southbourne near Bournemouth.
